Energy-focused facility to open in Washington County

Washington County will be the site of a new energy-focused facility that will create at least 40 full-time jobs within the next three years.

Gov. Tom Wolf announced Thursday that TechnipFMC would build a regional hub at the Speers Industrial Park in Speers Borough that will expand its operations that include the service, manufacturing and testing of tools and other equipment. The $13.3 million facility will retain 128 jobs in the state and will be partially funded by a $160,000 Pennsylvania First grant and $18,000 in workforce grants.

The company's wellhead, pressure pumping, frac equipment, flow treatment and testing will be consolidated into a 22.4-acre site with 100,000 square feet of office, warehouse and manufacturing space, the company said. The grand opening should happen in the first quarter of 2020.

Europe-based TechnipFMC (NYSE: FTI) has facilities around the world, including 40 in the United States. It serves the oil and gas industry, and had $12.5 billion in revenue in 2018.
