Dunkin' Donuts to open W. Chestnut St. location Monday

Heartland Restaurant Group, the Pittsburgh-based franchisee for Dunkin' Donuts in Southwestern Pennsylvania, said it will hold a grand opening Monday of its newest Dunkin' Donuts unit at 1271 W. Chestnut St.

The store, which will open at 5 a.m. and hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m., is a conversion of a former Donut Connection which closed last year. Work began at the site late last year.

Heartland executives said changes include an expanded and repaved parking lot, a repositioned drive-up window to improve queue times and the addition of a patio in the front of the building.

The West Chestnut Street location is the fifth Dunkin' Donuts store to open in Washington County. The others are on Racetrack Road in North Strabane Township, Murtland Avenue in South Strabane Township, Washington Road in Peters Township and Cavasina Drive in Canonsburg.

Heartland, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee, said in a press release it now has 47 units in the region and employs 1,000 people. It plans to hire an additional 200 people this year.

Heartland will hold a company-wide hiring day with interviews at several locations Wednesday, including at its Mt. Lebanon store at 1541 Washington Road. Candidates can also apply online at http://pleaseapplyonline.com/hrg/
