Crazy Horse will have grand opening Saturday

Crazy Horse Coffee, which has been operating for two months, will ramp up its visibility Saturday with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting.

The shop, in the upper end of Park Place at the Meadow Lands, will kick off the ceremonial event at 1:14 p.m. That distinctive time is a tribute to owner/founder James Bendel’s military unit.

Bendel, an Iraq War veteran, was a sergeant with the 114th Army Cavalry unit who survived two shots to the head. One cut his chin, the other passed through the top of his helmet without striking him. He is a Purple Heart recipient.

He also is a single dad with two full-time jobs, living in South Strabane Township with his son, James IV. The boy and his big sister will cut the ribbon together. The father also owns Integrity Stickline Services, an oil and gas-related business.

Crazy Horse is at 900 Wildflower Circle, Suite 911, near Planet Fitness in North Strabane Township.
