Community Bank reveals plans for corporate center in North Franklin

Community Bank, in a continuous expansion mode, revealed plans Wednesday for a new corporate center in North Franklin Township.

The center will be at 2111 North Franklin Drive, in the building formerly occupied by Jumper’s Junction, a restaurant and banquet facility near Wild Things Stadium. The two-story structure is being renovated by Nello Construction Co. of Canonsburg, with the move expected to take place this summer. Many of the bank’s operations are currently centered at 90 W. Chestnut St., Washington.

Community Bank will use the top floor for its executive offices, commercial and mortgage lenders, human resources, retail operations, compliance and auditing. It also will use part of the ground floor, but most of that will be occupied by Exchange Underwriters, the bank’s insurance subsidiary, which currently is in Canonsburg.

Chief executive officer Pat McCune said in a prepared statement: “The new corporate center is the next step in our strategy to expand and improve Community Bank.”

The new center will be strategically located, just off – and visible from – Interstate 70 and only a few miles from I-79. There will be easy access from Pittsburgh and Wheeling, W.Va., the latter home to Progressive Bank. CB announced last fall it was merging with Progressive, a transaction expected to close this spring. When that happens, CB will have 24 offices in three states and more than $1 billion in assets.

McCune said the center “will equip us better to serve the Ohio Valley and the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, while allowing close coordination with our administrative people.”
