Global company plans opening in Canton Twp.

D&S Industrial Fasteners, a global company, is launching its first retail outlet this week in Canton Township.

A grand opening, featuring hourly giveaways and in-store demonstrations, is planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday at 901 Jefferson Ave. The Coraopolis- based firm distributes fasteners, chemicals, power tools, safety equipment for the oil and gas industry and industrial products.

It also has distribution facilities in Baltimore, Philadelphia, York and Youngstown, Ohio.

“This (the Canton store) is a tremendous step forward for us,” said Steve Celaschi, D& S’ managing partner. “We have always been primarily a business-to-business company, but the storefront gives us a new way to interact with and serve potential clients.”

D& S Industrial Fasteners has been in business since 1998 and serves a spectrum of customers, from independent contractors to US Steel, Ford Motor Co. and Walmart.
