An engineering systems solutions company based in Monroeville is planning to open a second location in Chartiers Township this month.

Premier Automation says it is finalizing a deal to occupy a building at 320 Reliance Drive, near the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. The firm said it will offer “full engineering and manufacturing services,” which will include building large and small electrical controls for manufacturers.

Premier was looking to expand beyond the eastern suburbs and found a facility with 66,000 square feet of operating space in the middle of the oil and gas industry.

Lauren Plummer, a marketing and communications specialist with Premier, said two employees are transferring to Chartiers and “we are hoping to recruit two or three more hires shortly” for that site. She said the volume of business may determine how many are eventually hired.

Plummer said the company plans to hire for full-time, hourly positions

Eli Evankovich, chief executive officer of Premier Automation, said in a statement: “Our new facility is an exciting opportunity for us to more conveniently serve new and existing customers in the region.

Premier Automation, which was formed in 2001, is in Monroeville Business Park near Route 22 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Premier Automation has grown from 20 employees operating in one building to more than 100 in three buildings.
