History of the Washington County Chamer of Commerce

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has been serving the business community since 1911.  Originally chartered as the Washington Board of Trade, it was formed “for the encouragement and protection of the trade and commerce of the town of Washington and vicinity.”  In 1921, the Board’s name was changed to Washington Chamber then to Greater Washington Chamber of Commerce and finally, in 1996, to the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.  Throughout our history and into the future, our mission remains the same – to promote and advance the interests of the Washington County business community.
